The Money List is a crowdsourced journalistic endeavor motivated by the ever-growing wealth disparity that plagues the United States and the wanton disregard for basic human needs in the name of shareholder profits and perceived power.
Our mission is to scrutinize and showcase betrayals of common decency and other egregious acts perpetrated by those in positions of power and influence in both the private and public arenas. Using the power of crowdsourced information and the speed at which that information can be disseminated, this public Wiki has been created and made available for contribution by citizens inspired to document, investigate, scrutinize, and inform others.
Citizen journalism is a powerful tool protected in America by the Constitution of the United States. So important was this power to the founders of the country that these protections were enshrined forever in very first amendment. In order to maintain a healthy and sustainable representative democracy truly accountable to the people, it is vital to gather, collect, share, examine, scrutinize, categorize, comment on, and otherwise document matters of public interest. We can think of no matter of greater public interest than that of the public's own continued health and prosperity.

Why "The Money List"
The primary inspiration for the creation of this wiki was to shine a light on the people, corporations, organizations, and other entities that take our money - and especially those that do so without offering anything of worth in return. Much of the media the general public consumes is controlled by a company or organization in some manner - and because of that, they are susceptible to pressures from many angles. Shareholders that demand the profit line goes up. Investment firms that insist on double-digit-percentage growth year-over-year. When they control the media, they control the masses. The end result is the world in which we live today, the climax of the relentless pursuit of profits over people. Where basic human rights are ignored if it means the books look better, and murder is only murder if it happens to the people.
"The Money List" refers to the list of people that control the money. The wealthy elite that lives a different life than you and I. The people that profit off other's strife. They should be scrutinized. They should be watched. They should be reported on. Independent platforms free from the influence of those that would stand on our necks just to be the tallest in the room are vitally important to ensuring an informed population and that accurate information is not sequestered from the public because it makes them look bad.
Arrest of Briana Boston
Using words associated with the shooting of the UnitedHealthcare CEO, Briana Boston was arrested and charged with threats to conduct a mass shooting or act of terrorism, and was booked in a Polk County, FL jail.
After ending a phone call with Blue Cross Blue Shield discussing a denied medical insurance claim, Briana is alleged to have said "Delay, deny, depose. You people are next."
The alleged words echo those inscribed on bullet casings found at the scene of the UnitedHealthcare CEO shooting. In the days after the shooting and subsequent arrest of suspect Luigi Mangione, an outpouring of support for both Luigi as well as the underlying message that the shooting conveyed could be seen on various social media platforms around the internet.
Seeing firsthand how some of those platforms were beginning to censor the information and prevent discussion of this historic situation is part of what lead to the creation of The Money List. Relying on corporations to provide the platforms on which to hold these discussions and share this information is allowing those corporations control of the message that comes out.
Free speech is a core tenet of the Constitution of the United States. After her arrest, there was debate concerning the possibility of Briana's rights being violated. While speech is protected in many forms, threats of actual physical violence is not. The question of whether or not the words "you people are next" rises to the level of speech she is being charged with will be the core of the deliberation if and when her case goes before the courts. Concerns that she will be used to make an example were raised in various online discussions, as some actions taken by CEO's and other wealthy individuals since the death of Brian Thompson has led many to believe that fear and tension is rising amongst the wealthy elite.
The UnitedHealthcare CEO Shooting
Published and preserved for posterity to document the troubled times, The Money List is working to archive digital media assets showcasing the mindset, feelings, and overall disposition of the citizens of the United States in the hours and days during and following the shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson on 4 December 2024. In cases where it may be untenable to host the media here, links to external sources may be provided.

Corporate Killers
Some corporations are more evil than others, and many take great strides to obfuscate their true motives or hide their behaviors from the public eye. Capitalism demands growth, and taken to the extreme ultimately results in a class of people that put more value in the dollar than they do value in human life. The end result is that the real-life pain, suffering, anxiety, stress, and lives of the people are reduced to numbers and metrics to be evaluated only as a business risk.
The lack of empathy shown by these corporations is appalling to many. In late 2024 the shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, suspected to have been committed by Luigi Mangione, ignited a wave of support from the general public. In spite of a tumultuous political climate, people on both ends of the political spectrum shared messages espousing their own experiences and disdain for the health insurance industry.
It was this event that inspired the creation of The Money List. The general public received a proverbial slap in the face as they watched things unfold; the disproportionate spending of resources and manpower being all too apparent now. In America, it isn't about justice for all. In America, it isn't about advancing on merit, nor about compassion and empathy for your fellow persons. No - in America, greed is rewarded. A lack of compassion so large it borders on sociopathy is rewarded.
Billionaires in Politics
According to WorldPopulationReview.com as of 2024 there are currently 756 billionaires currently living in the United States and District of Columbia. Only seven states lack any billionaire residents - Alaska, Delaware, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Vermont, and West Virginia.
